Are you In the Loop?

Have you signed up for PTO's "In the Loop" email?

O.L.P.H. is trying to be more environmentally aware by Going Paperless. Our goal is to only send the envelope/bulletin home once a month. We will be minimizing/eliminating the number of flyers/reminders going home in paper form. Between the calendar, webpage and email reminders, you should be well informed.

So please, help us in our efforts by signing up for PTO's "In the Loop" email. If you would like to sign up, please email the school office at Office@OLPHRiverside.com and we'll add you to the list!!!!

"When I learned of how many people gave their time and blood, there were again no words to describe my emotions..."

"The amazing community that is Our Lady of Perpetual Help School has opened my eyes to the kindness and generosity in people. I will never be able to express to you how much everything you have done means to our family. Thank you so much and may God bless you."

THE ROSARY WALK

On Holy Thursday, OLPH holds a Rosary walk where students, parents, teachers and staff trek up Mt. Rubidoux to commemorate the end of Jesus 40 days in the desert in prayer.
IN HONOR OF MRS. MOORE
Mrs. Moore's Garden was dedicated February 1, 2012. As her husband said during the dedication, that this was Mrs. Moore's dream during the 33 years she served at OLPH. She knew that somehow, somewhere, OLPH would find the funds to create this beautiful garden.

Family, school staff and families, friends, parish staff and families, and other Diocesan Catholic schools generously responded to her dream. Thank you to everyone for their amazing generosity - This garden is going to lend a dignity and beauty befitting of Mrs. Moore's vision for OLPH.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING AND FINGERPRINTING
Safe environment training must be done by new families and every five years. MANY of you are due to renew your training. This can be done online through the diocesan web site. If it is not renewed or done at all, you will not be allowed to volunteer and earn your service hours. Turn in a copy of your certificate to the office. If you're not sure, ask in the office.

There has been a change in the method for completing background checks for volunteers in schools in the Diocese of San Bernardino. As of mid-October, 2011, after revisiting the background check process, the Bishop has decided to follow a more convenient and economic avenue regarding background checks for volunteers. The Diocese has contracted with ScreeningONE to do volunteers' background checks. The cost is $30 for volunteers in schools. You will pick up the application at the school office.

As a result, the Live Scan fingerprint process is no longer required. There is one major exception: preschool parent volunteers must still do their background check using the Live Scan fingerprint process. This is done through the Social Services department of the State of California and is part of state law for preschools. Note that since the Live Scan results go through a different agency (i.e., the STATE department of Social Services rather than the Diocese), that parents will have to do a new (ScreeningONE) background check once they begin to volunteer at the K-8 level. This is because Social Services does not share the results of their Live Scans with the Diocese.
